Happy 2026! A look back, and a look ahead
Happy new year!
With 2025 firmly in the rear-view mirror, it's time to reflect (pun intended) and to look ahead to a fresh year.
December presented the opportunity to travel to my home state of Massachusetts to spend the holidays with my family. A good time was had by all, and I got to spend some time in my all-time favorite bookshop/coffeehouse, the Book Mill in Montague, Mass. It's a lovely place for both work and reflection.

While there, I learned that the photos of one of my projects from last summer helped PCL Construction to earn a national award - it's always gratifying to be even a small part of a project like that.

Looking ahead, we already have several super-exciting projects lined up for the next couple of months, and I'm teaching again at the Photographic Center Northwest, which is affiliated with Seattle University. This quarter, I'm again teaching Professional Practices in Photography, which is essentially a business class for students who are working toward starting their own photography practices. It's a really rewarding and exciting experience.

PCNW has rental analog darkrooms, so I'm planning to revisit film photography as I have time this coming year as well. I've even dug out my beloved Yashica 44 TLR for the occasion, I just need to get some film from Glazer's Camera, our local camera shop.

So, I'm looking forward to a new year filled with exciting architectural and construction photo projects, a really cool top-secret video project, continued teaching, and a return to my roots with some film photography and darkroom work.
What does 2026 hold in store for you? I hope it's nothing but good things.
